This week I have been involved in sending out five proposals. These were requested at the Writing For The Soul Conference that I attended the last of February. When caught up in writing my stories, I don’t think much about whether I will someday see my novels in publication. But when I sit across from a publisher’s editor telling them why they should publish my book, I can’t help but think about the end results of my writing.
I’ve written four complete novels, and I have two others about half written. In my file of future novels, I have eight novels with a synopsis written just waiting for me to get to them someday.
Why be so persistent in my writing? There are several good reasons. One reason I write is that I enjoy it. Isn’t this why most people keep doing what they do? I don’t have to write. I can choose to stop anytime I want to, which makes it more fun.
Another reason I write is that I have these stories wandering around in my head and by putting them down on paper I can clear my thinking, until the next story surfaces.
Those are a couple of reasons I write, which is different from why I want to publish. My stories have strong spiritual elements. I want others to read them to help their spiritual walk.
As in everything in life, I want my writing, and eventual publication, to be to the glory of God.

Can't wait to hear how things go with your proposals! Very exciting!
